Blogging – What I Knew Before
Blogging was something that was a little known to me, because I used to heard about it on some shows or news. I used to think that it was something like a social media software that was like the other ones out there like; Whats app etc. Then my previous semester course started about it, I was like a cave woman trying to figure out what blogging does and what it was about. I tried my best to figure it out but eventually I kinda figured out how to actually make out. It was a good experience and a stepping stone.

Blogging –what I know now
Computer Assisted Instruction has taught me alot about blogging. A blog  is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of discrete posts typically displayed in reverse chronological order. It is not only about posting articles or stories or personal experiences but it is a forum where others can view and comment on topics or discussions. Blogs are not only local but also world wide. You could interact with other teachers around the world which I found to be very exciting.

Blogging –how my teaching will be affected by it
You may use blogging for:
• communicating announcements and assignments in a format that students may
perceive to be more “friendly” than CTools
• sharing instructor-generated exercises or prompts
• community building
• creating a public place where student work can be “published”

Possible Uses for Students
Students may use blogging for:
• responding to readings
• maintaining a writer’s notebook or journal
• posting personal, reflective, exploratory, or open entries (campus observations, “where
I’m from,” pictures from home, or favorite book or piece of writing)
• sharing student-generated research or links to class-related articles
• exploring visual rhetoric
• practicing writing
o developing voice
o working on titles, conciseness
o considering tone
o brainstorming, drafting, facilitating peer review
• creating a showcase for final projects
• crafting an on-line image or presence

These are just some ways to use in my teaching, the vast amount of ways are just amazing. Hope to use some of these methods soon.
